Necessary supplies

Necessary supplies would include 140 1b cold pressed 1/2 sheet approx. There will be quarter sheets available at the Club for the cost of $1.50 per; or $5.00 full sheet 22x32-- while they last. A half sheet is 2 quarters. A full is 4 quarters. Arches and or Winsor Newton recommended for best results. Strathmore is not recommended.
HB pencil and Notebook Mechanical pencils are ok.
White eraser or eraser pen
Brushes Size: " rounds" 12 or 10 and a 6 or 4 " Flat" 1 1/ 2 or 2 inch for washes and if you wish a separate wash brush of your choice for applying just water. " script/rigger" (thin hair) for small details. These brushes are what you will need to start with and should be of a good quality and not craft/student grade that you purchase at the dollar store or Wal Mart -- We recommend Artist Emporium or Colours who will give you a discount with the showing of your membership card. Michaels are another option for brushes but knowledgeable staff is not always available. Lowell Cornell red neck/black body brushes are generally regarded as one of the best. This quality of brush will give you good results and many years of wear. Colors and Artist Emporium will also give you good advice as to what you should spend your money on.

Decent quality paints i.e. Cotman, Yarka starter sets, of course Winsor Newton, Holbein, etc in the tubes or pans to achieve your best results. If you have questions before you purchase you may call the Club for guidance.

Spray bottle, tissues (99cent story quality) an old towel for first class.

This first class is for beginners and those wishing to take a refresher in the basics which is always a good idea to go back to the basics for an idea to what you can improve on or what you are perhaps doing wrong.

The cost for this "planned" class by the Club instructor is $5.00 per student. Drop in classes as has been the practice for club members will still occur on Wednesdays as usual. This means that you may bring whatever you are working on, any media and usually there will be a more advanced club member/s there willing to help you with your work. Drop in classes are subject to no fee as the lesson is not a planned lesson.

Sign up sheet is at the Club. Please indicate your intention to attend so that the instructor knows how many students to plan for and bring the necessary information. Thank you for your assistance with the planning of these classes. Please check with the club.
