About The Gimli Art Club and its "SEA WALL" Murals.

THE STORY BEHIND THE MURALS.

The GIMLI ART CLUB and it's members created the murals as gifts to the community.
It is the wish of the artists involved that the display be enjoyed by all, without restriction, and that viewers will come to know and understand the varied history of the peoples of the area and the beauty of the changing landscape of the Eastern Interlake of Manitoba.
None of this artistic work would have been possible without the assistance of a major sponsor. The artists would like to pay special thanks to the GIMLI CREDIT UNION, its Board,Shareholders and the manager at that time...Catherine Robertson, for their understanding and generous financial support in the purchasing of materials for the preparation, the paints for the artwork and the final protective coatings needed.

The Manitoba Society of Artists' purpose is to promote and encourage Manitoba's visual artists. This is done by providing memberships to professional artists, enabling them to participate in members' exhibitions and various other functions throughout the year. This permits the artist to gain important exposure, sales of work, and also other career opportunities, while at the same time experience and develop friendships with Manitoba artists.
