Kathy Hastie
Biography

Kathy was born in Arden, Manitoba and spent her early years in Transcona. She sang in choirs and as a soloist.

Moving to Gimli in 1969 where she raised her 3 children. Kathy was a early member of the 'Gimli Art Club' and served as president in 1973 and was also involved in the building committee, making possible the GAC as a gallery. She sat on the board of the Manitoba Arts Council for over four years to encourage their outreach beyond the Winnipeg perimeter.

Kathy taught many workshops for over 25 years at the 'Gimli Art Club' and also as part of the 'Artist in Residence' program throughout Manitoba.

She has received and won many awards for her creations over the last four decades.

Having worked in most mediums, acrylic, watercolour, oil, she especially likes working in the 'multi-media' style of creativity. Learning, moving forward, thinking outside the box and making life an adventure.
