I was born and raised in Winnipeg. We came to the Interlake in the 70’s to raise our
5 children. I have always had an interest in art, I would see a pretty sky or trees
glistening with snow and wish I could paint it!
I didn’t start painting until my last child left home, I got books from the library to get me started and have never looked back! I felt like I was given wings and I could fly!! I painted anything and everything. I have won several awards at juried shows and have my work in collections across Canada, U.S., England and Australia.
I joined the Gimli Art Club where I have made many new friends and learned something from all of them! The beauty of the Interlake will always inspire me. I work in oil, acrylic, watercolour and some collage. I am always eager to try new things and hopefully will continue to grow as an artist..

Painting is a passion it is good for your soul. Most of my art work is from nature and my world around me. I love to create homey and familiar places.
So many things inspire me, a beautiful cloud, colours, shapes, people, the shadow of a snow bank, reflections in the water. I begin with an idea and many times the painting takes me somewhere else. I work with different materials and techniques. Some of my favorites are oil and watercolour.
Art is a feeling and is different in everyone. A tenderness for the past and a spiritual connection with nature are just a few. I paint for myself and if someone else feels a connection for whatever reason, I feel I have succeeded as an artist.
