I currently work primarily in pencil, paint, pen and ink. Over the past few years, I have lived in a number of locations in Canada, including the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia, greater Montréal (Deux Montagnes), the north shore of Lake Erie (Leamington), and Eastend, Saskatchewan. All of these physical locations have informed my work, as have the human connections I have made in each place.
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Winnipeg. While studying Fine Arts, I majored in photography and subsequently pursued photography in commercial and industrial settings and in my art practice. In more recent years, I have turned to painting, drawing and collage, following a number of different threads including unconventional landscape painting and explorations of family history. Some of my paintings of ravens have appeared in my exhibitions involving family history and mythology.
One of my most recent interests is tree portraits, and I do commissioned work in that genre. I am also working on paintings in series. Currently I am documenting the seasons of the year, to be preserved in book form.
