KILN FIRED GLASS

" THE INTRICATE SQUARE "

Framed Fused Glass Pieces

These items were created by cutting stained glass specific for fusing in a kiln. In some ways, the colors are a reminder of raku pottery.  When firing glass in a kiln, the glass melts and there can be many surprises. Therefore, the process is quite exciting.

STAINED GLASS.

Mermaid’s Descent

This beautiful piece of glass demanded my attention.  I purchased it and then had to decide how to use it without destroying the obvious outline of the mermaid’s body.  Sometimes the glass, rather than the individual, determines the design of a particular piece. In this case, there are minimal ‘cuts’ and a collage technique has been used as well as decorative soldering.

Stained Glass

Stained Glass Panel  - An Abstract of Water

This sample was my first attempt at working in an abstract fashion without a specific design or plan.  I simply loved the glass, the colors and textures and wanted to make something.  As a result of this experience, I now have a keen interest in abstract landscapes using  stained glass as the medium.
