Kathy Hastie was born in Arden, Manitoba and came to GIMLI in 1969 to raise a family of three sons and to pursue her career in the arts.
After joining the GIMLI ART CLUB in 1973, she served as the club president for three years and became a driving force in the success that the club has enjoyed in the community. Besides many of her paintings being privately owned, her work is shown in numerous public collections.

  Her paintings are in the public collections of corporations and government in Manitoba, and Alberta and in private collections across North America, England, Australia, Japan and the Isle of Man.  A member of the GIMLI ART CLUB since 1973, she has served as club president and has been an integral part of the club's growth.
