Discover the magic of cyanotype- a beautiful process for creating striking Prussian -Blue images using UV light. Wendy will introduce you to the professional approach for creating cyanotypes on fabric, canvas, watercolour paper and other natural porous surfaces.

Using artist-grade solution of ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide, you'll learn to coat your chosen surface, create your design, expose it to UV light and experience the magic of the big reveal. Wendy will provide UV lights and glass for the exposure process.

The workshop is just the beginning- you'll leave ready and supplied with solution to keep creating cyanotypes at home!

What to bring: Bring the surfaces you'd like to print on, such as Stretched canvas, natural fabrics(cotton, linen, rayon) and or watercolour paper- even inexpensive paper works.
You'll need flat shapes to block the UV light and create your designs. Think pressed flowers, leaves, doilies, cut-outs, stencils, or your own drawings on acetate. The possibilities are endless ! Your shapes must be flat enough to be slightly compressed under glass. Wendy brings the glass- you bring the shapes. And bring a couple of foam brushes, the cheap kind, and consider bringing a coverup, and rubber gloves, etc.

What you'll take home:  Enough artist grade solution to take home and coat the equivalent of upto 60 additional 8 X 10 inch sheets. (your registration fee includes a supplies fee) Plus you'll take home finished cyanotypes ready to frame/seal and display.
